Vista Grove Kinder Prep
November 2017 Newsletter Welcome to Vista Grove’s Kinder Prep Program. We are excited to have you join us in some activities to help your child get ready to enjoy the Kindergarten Program next year. There are many ways that we can prepare our children for a year of fun and learning. Upcoming events: Mrs. Mohler and Ms. Sofiane will be having special activities either outside the Kindergarten classrooms or in Mrs. Mohler’s classroom for children who will turn 5 before September 1st, 2018. It will be a chance for us to get to know you and your child as we begin to build relationships and participate in learning activities as we get ready for Kindergarten. November 17th, Friday, we will have a special bat puppet activity during the Fall Festival. November 30th, Thursday, 5:30-6:30 PM. Mrs. Mohler and Ms. Sofiane will be doing a special fall activity in Mrs. Mohler’s Classroom. December, during the second part of the Winter Concert, Mrs. Mohler and Ms. Sofiane will be outside the auditorium with a special winter project for the Kinder Prep students and some of their younger siblings. All Kinder Prep activities are designed to help children build a relationship with their teacher for the upcoming year and learn some new things in preparation for Kindergarten. Parents are encouraged to join us as we will be giving out learning tips to do at home and supplies to help your child prepare for a year of great activities. As parents of the new millennium, our days are filled with many activities and responsibilities. One of the most important things for children to learn before entering Kindergarten is how to do things on his/her own. It is important that they know how to button and zip their pants and coats as well as being able to tie their shoes. As a Kindergarten teacher, there are days that I feel like all I have done is tie shoes and yet I know that there is a certain amount of maturity and dexterity involved in tying shoes. It is time consuming, but the more time you can allow your child to do it himself/herself, the better they will function in school. Here is a little visual that may help you demonstrate shoe tying to your child. We are excited about the upcoming days in Kinder Prep. Mrs. Mohler and Ms. Sofiane |
