News from the Kindergarten Bee Hive
The upper grades are doing Galileo testing this week so plans and schedules may change because of the testing schedules and procedures. We have completed our Dibels testing and the children did a great job.
- We are still working on our color words. We will review all of them and introduce red. Flashcards will be in homework folders for those who don’t already read these words.
- We are reading words that begin with a vowel and CVC words. We will be reviewing all letters but especially Dd and Gg this week. There are two ways to write the lower case g. We call one of them a printed g and the other one the little g. They will need to know both as they are introduced to more written words.
- Our Character emphasis has shifted to being responsible. Ruby the Responsible Butterfly will be teaching us some valuable lessons. We have learned to always do our best!
- We are working on greater than and lesser than and equal. We continue to count to 100 by 1’s and 10’s. We are always working with numerical sequence; know which number comes before and which number comes after.
